Pfeil What are you allergic to?

Despite not knowing a majority of vernacular, I've always a knack for reading ingredients whatever they may be from food, to toiletries and such.

What soap, aftershave or cologne ( if any ) caused adverse affects be it dry skin, redness or itchiness and the like?

One of these Doc Harris soaps-the Arlington as I recall did such. Those marked asterisk are unique identifiers. Reckon it has to be one or combination of these that cause my skin to flare. The other two soaps didn't cause ill-effects but only posted for comparison purposes. Terribly sorry bout the piss-poor quality.

I have had the "itchiness" problem with several different sandalwood products, which is a shame since I enjoy the scent. I did recently try the Edwin Jagger sandalwood shave cream, and it didn't seem to bother me. I think I'll try their aftershave balm next and see how that goes.

    Russ,

Have you tried OLD Progress Vulfix Sandalwood cream? It's intoxicating. I love the scent and very effective cream too.

I did try the Vulfix cream and enjoyed it. However, I had an allergic reaction to it. Something about Sandalwood gets me. You're right though, I loved the scent of the Vulfix cream.

I have a weird reaction to my beloved Trumper's rose soap. Not itching or any other symptoms that would immediately make me think "allergy", but rather it's always as if I shaved too close. It seems to mimic razor burn, in other words, or at least the more short-lived symptoms of it.

I have a rather spectacular allergy to peanuts, and a low level intolerance for nuts in general. In shaving terms this means that I can use almond soaps without ill effects, but not on a day-to-day basis. P.160 is an occasional treat, but Cella is such wholesome stuff that I'm happy to use it a couple of times a week, and generally do.

I have the itchiness problem with "Golddachs" (contains coumarin) and to my great sorrow with Olivia's WM Dschinn. I'm not sure if the latter contains coumarin, too. Possibly I have problems with cinnamon.

I put away Col. Conk soaps, because my skin becomes too dry during the shave. So using the soaps regularly get me eczema.

    Best regards,

    Hreidmar
